B2104 Classic Base

The B2104 lets you keep the smaller Gerstner chest or case you already use and add four drawers underneath it. Gerstner documents it as a companion to both the 2007 Classic Chest and the 2001AP All-Purpose Case.

Three small drawers sit above one wider drawer. The lower drawer gives you 19-5/8 inches of internal width for longer items, while the smaller drawers keep little pieces separated above. Felt lines the drawers and the top surface. Used by itself, the B2104 is simply a low drawer unit with a usable surface on top.

The locking front panel covers all four drawers when closed. Open it and the panel slides beneath the bottom drawer so it is not hanging in front of the base while you reach into the drawers. Gerstner lists two keys with the base.

The B2104 itself is 21-1/2 inches wide, so check the complete footprint rather than assuming it matches the 20-inch width of the 2007 sitting above it. The case uses hardwoods and veneers with a lacquer finish and rubber feet. American Cherry is paired with brass hardware and brown felt; Golden Oak and Natural Walnut use nickel hardware and green felt.
