B2903 Pro-Series Riser

An open cubby gives the B2903 Pro-Series Riser a different job from a conventional drawer base. It leaves a place for reference material or something you want close at hand, with three felt-lined drawers above the opening and a felt-lined top for the chest or base.

The cavity measures 26-1/4 inches wide, 5 inches high and 12-7/8 inches deep. That opening is the measurement that matters when deciding what you can keep beneath the drawers. Two wider drawers flank a narrower one, keeping small pieces separated without turning the entire riser into closed storage.

Gerstner identifies the 2610 and 2613 chests and the B2705 base as compatible companions. The B2903 can also stand on its own. Its footprint is 28-7/8 by 14-1/2 inches, so measure the supporting surface rather than assuming it follows the dimensions of the chest placed above it.

Tongue-and-groove construction, hardwoods and veneers, hand-fit drawers and rubber feet are documented for the riser. American Cherry comes with brass hardware and brown felt. Golden Oak and Natural Walnut use nickel hardware and green felt.

If what you need most is a deep closed drawer, the B2705 is the more relevant base. The B2903 earns its place when the open cavity itself is useful.
