2610 Journeyman Chest

The Journeyman’s ten drawers give measuring and layout tools room to spread out. Six shallow drawers handle smaller instruments, a narrow tall compartment takes a different shape of tool, and three full-width drawers accommodate longer pieces. The top well adds storage beneath the lid without changing that drawer arrangement.

For a machinist choosing a wooden tool chest, the internal dimensions are worth looking at before the wood. A long drawer is useful only if the instrument and its case actually fit. The 2610’s full-width drawers measure 24-1/8 inches across internally, with a drawer depth of 7-5/8 inches. The specification table separates the different drawer heights so you can plan around the tools you already own.

Both chests are 26 inches wide. The 2613 adds three drawers and is 1-1/2 inches taller and 1-7/8 inches deeper overall. Its drawers also extend farther from front to back. The 2610 is the more compact choice when its ten-drawer layout already gives you the separation you need; the 2613 earns its extra space when drawer depth and more compartments matter.

Gerstner makes the Journeyman in Dayton, Ohio, with a lacquer finish and felt-lined drawers. A locking drop-front panel closes across the drawer bank. Guid Wark carries Golden Oak and Natural Walnut configurations, both supplied with nickel hardware and green felt.

If you need more storage beneath the chest rather than a larger chest above the bench, the B2705 Pro-Series Base adds five drawers, including a much deeper bottom drawer.
